Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Leila completed her Medical Degree (MBBS) followed by specialist training at Shiraz Medical University, Iran. In her final written and oral exams, she was awarded Best Candidate across the country. Whilst in Iran she worked in Tertiary Hospitals, and also as an Associate Professor at Shiraz University. After migrating to Australia, Leila completed her advanced training in obstetrics and gynaecology within Victoria and has worked at Mercy Hospital for Women, Royal Women’s Hospital and Box Hill Hospital.

Leila received Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) in March 2017.

Leila has a public appointment with Eastern Health (Box Hill Hospital & Angliss Hospital, Yarra Ranges and Healesville Hospital). She is actively involved in supervising specialist trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and medical students, and is also a voluntary examiner for Monash University medical students.

Leila attends conferences and workshops regularly to remain up to date with the latest research.

Leila is married with two kids. As a mother herself, she understands the stresses and challenges of pregnancy, so is very familiar with the needs of her patients.

When Leila is not working, she enjoys cooking, gardening and travelling.
